BBC DMs Are Open

The BBC's new 'Open Door' topical comedy show, DMs are Open (please don't search this on Twitter without adding 'BBC' to it, trust me!) first aired in May of 2022. Mike really struggled to write anything for the first series - he only actually submitted one item. So, when it was announced that the second series would be non-topical, he was more hopeful. However, with a huge delay between writing and broadcast, particularly as you had to submit to three shows before you'd even heard the first, Mike struggled again and didn't submit a huge amount. Series 3 was announced in January 2024. It would be moving to Radio 4 and now be 15 minute episodes. It was also going to have a new host, the brilliant Stevie Martin. Again though, all material for the episodes had to be submitted before recording took place so Mike wasn't sure what the tone of the show was going to be.
